I'm really not good at landscape photography - I feel as though I simply don't have an eye for it. For this reason I mostly avoid shooting landscapes. And even when I do, I end up being very disappointed. But the Golden Gate National Park is a place of such awesome beauty that it would be a crime to leave without at least trying to capture some of its magnificence. So I tried. I am not altogether disappointed, but have also lost all objectivity when it comes to my own attempts. These are my four favourite pics (out of many).
Mushroom rock
Sandstone formation
Brilliant blue sky over the mountains
Typical landscape

Great work, #4 gets my vote perfect DOF, light is great and colour spot on. Landscape photography is something I would like to do more of, I've got the lenses, tripod remotes etc etc, read the books, studied at tutorials, but I am never totally satisfied with my results. But I reckon you've cracked it with number 4.
Karin, I love love love shot #3, there is just something about it that stands out.
But I know what you mean about landscape photography. Getting a REALLY good shot can be difficult (I think a perspective makes all the difference in it). Having said that, I prefer it to portraits. :O
Wow, love #3 and 4!! The sunrays in 3 are gorgeous!!
I agree. Your comp, DOF, colours all spot on. Are you maybe contemplating giving class late Dec?
