A shoot with old friends

So I spent a long weekend in Bloemfontein with family and friends and it was so wonderful. Every time I go there, I am reminded of how much I loved to live there and how much I miss my friends. It's always hard to leave, but absolutely worth the extra petrol to get there!
One of my dear friends asked me to photograph their family while I was there. She has the most angelic looking 3-year old and has also given birth to a premature baby in August. This tiny little girl is now two months old and weighs only 2,7kg! But she's at home and she is healthy and she is doing very well. I have the world of respect for my friend for coping during this difficult time and still being able to look to beautiful and calm and collected. This is just a small sample of the shoot.

I absolutely love this picture. I find it very expressive of the bond between mother and daughter and the lingering trauma of the tough time they both went through.
