Red beads

I used these beads in a recent shoot, because I thought that they would make an interesting prop, but mostly to hold this 10 month old baby's attention as they can be so difficult to keep still! I actually liked the way they came out much more than I anticipated - these are just a few fun shots. Keep an eye on my other site for more of these to come.

Tiny life

I had the privilege of photographing this precious one week old baby today. I was busy with her for an hour and a half and she was wide awake the entire time! I have never seen such an alert newborn - and oh, so beautiful. And look at that amazing head of hair!

I took the first few with my new Canon and 50mm lens in natural light, more to just play around and test the camera's ability. I am soooo impressed (I know, I've said that before - get ready to hear it about 50 more times). I still don't have perfect control with the camera but am still amazed at the results - such awesome DOF!

And then we moved over to the studio with my old camera which I'm still more comfortable with.

Photohunt #125: Beautiful

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I suppose when you have a camera in hand, almost everything you aim your lens at is beautiful in some way. So it is very difficult to choose an image!

As I make a living out of capturing babies and children, I suppose that to me, they will always be the most beautiful subject. Newborns in particular are very special, and the back of a tiny baby's head will always be exquisite to me.
