Ruby Tuesday: Red is the colour of my mood!

Emma was utterly and completely impossible today. Some days she can play constructively for hours on end, and then suddenly, on days like these, she turns into a little devil! The minute I turn my back she creates a different disaster. It started off with the usual pulling out of all the drawers of my dressing table and strewing toys across the entire house but by this afternoon things got seriously out of control. She managed to take a box of corn flakes out of the pantry and dumped it all on my Persian rug after which she merrily walked all over it making sure to crush it into the fibres. I was still busy moving the vacuum cleaner out of the way when I heard Joubert shouting. Emma was standing in the lounge with a large bottle of Oros (orange squash), half of which she's already poured on the floor (fortunately not on the carpet)......AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!! She then once again ran all over it, resulting in sticky little foot prints all over the floor. At the moment the two of them are sitting in the garden, digging holes in my flower beds. I've officially given up now. Henk will be home late tonight due to a work function and I wonder how I'll be able to keep my sanity through bath- and bed time. I think this calls for a glass of wine...
It's no small wonder that I actually managed to take a few quick shots today. Needless to say they have nothing to do with the kids as I'm not finding them particularly cute at this point.
Well, at least according to the rule of averages things should be better tomorrow. Unless that bastard of a Murphy decides to show his smug face in which case...if anything can go wrong....you know the rest.

Ruby Tuesday: Boys and their Bicycles

Joubert finally had a chance to master his new bicycle during this past weekend on our trip to Lindani game farm. Off course, he fell down at least a dozen times - the dirt road with soft, sandy spots did not help - but got away without seriously injuring himself! The region is very dry at the moment and therefor the landscape is not very colourful (though still beautiful). I found the boys' red sweaters against the pale landscape quite an interesting contrast.

Ruby Tuesday and a new preset

For my Ruby Tuesday post today I tried out a new preset for Lightroom that I found. It's called 'Redlight District' - LOL! Let's hope Emma doesn't end up in the Redlight District someday!

This picture was taken in Cape Town when Emma was 13 months old.

If only I could make this foot walk to that water...

This one I shot a few weeks ago while she was busy with the play dough.

I'm not too sure that I like the feel of this...

Ruby Tuesday: Building towards red

The idea for today's Ruby Tuesday is to post a photo with just a little bit of red in it. I think I aimed for a little less than I got. Actually wish Joubert was awake when I took this a few minutes ago, I'm sure he would have come up with a more elaborate construction!

Ruby Tuesday: Let's try this

I've known about Rudy Tuesday for a few weeks now, but have never had a suitable image to post. But after a weekend of happy snapping, I finally have these to contribute. I didn't feel like posting flowers yesterday, but since Monday is finally a memory, this image looked acceptable for posting today. The flowers almost does not look real - it somehow reminds me of one of those brightly coloured feather dusters? Anyway. And the fish I just experimented with and its still not perfect, but I find it kind of interesting and at least the colours are pretty.
