Mommy's little helper

I've been feeling very stressed lately. I have a lot going on at the moment. We are set to move at the end of this month and though it is exciting and much anticipated, it brings a whole set of it's own worries and problems.

With all of this going on, Joubert woke up crying yesterday morning with a pounding headache, stomach cramps and a fever. I felt so sorry for him, I could cry. I gave him some paracetamol to try and control the fever, but it did not stay down very long. After a two hour struggle, he finally managed to keep a dose down and started to feel slightly better.
When he woke up this morning, he was still a little feverish and I decided to take him to the doctor just to be on the safe side. (Also, it is his school concert tomorrow night and I would hate for him to be too ill to participate!) I figured that while I was there, I might as well have myself checked out, as all the painting in the house (yawn) has created havoc with my sinuses.
Joubert was checked out and given a clean bill of health - probably just some 24 hour virus and off course, by the time we got to the doctor, he was running around in the waiting room chasing his sister.
I, on the other hand, was rewarded with R500 worth of medication for allergies, congestion and yes, stress. Well I never. Turns out the sinus headache I have been nursing for about two weeks now has more to do with my inability to relax and lack of proper sleep.
Ah well - let's hope that these little helpers has me waking up refreshed for a change in the morning! (I feel sleepy already at the mere thought...)

I hope they do the trick, moving is so stressful, it really does do your head in, but it will all be worth it, as my mother says " focus on the positive, darling" dont you just love people who say stuff like that, I on the other hand found shutting myself in the bathroom and screaming very theraputic. :-)

One doesn't realise how a move can effect you, even if you are still in the pre-move stage. It breaks you down with you even knowing. As far as kids go. You can't tell me anything about sick kids. If its not the one, its the other. This morning Megan got up with an infection in her one eye. I feel like we have shares in the doctors.

Well I certainly hope you feel better soon. There really is so much going on in your life, so it makes sense that you might be a little stressed. Hopefully you'll be able to get some good rest, and then your mind will rest, and then the rest of you will feel better!! :)
