Photostory Friday and growing up

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

My daughter, Emma, turned two in September and through my eyes still seem like a baby. I realise this is more because I really really want her to still be a baby...but alas, she is not. I've ignored all the subtle sign for as long as I could, but lately, it's become impossible.
For instance, she is no longer wearing nappies. Teeny, weeny underpants are now making their appearance all over the washing line.

Also, she now sleeps in a BIG bed - and she loves it...

And finally, today she went to 'school' for the very first time. And she showed me just what a big girl she really is. She walked in on her own two feet and joined in the activities without any help from me. She then turned around, gave me a big smile and told me goodbye. I smiled back, gave her a BIG kiss and walked out the door.

I crossed the road, got into my car and cried.

My baby is growing up.

Oh my heartstrings! Emma is 32 flavors of beautiful. I love that portrait of her (what an expression) but I also love that bed shot (you the perspective queen nailed that). But the undies? PERFECTION!

If only we could hit the pause button on life!

Oh Karin..every Mummy knows how you feel...its so strange motherhood is an ever changing role, its bloomin' hard work, and involves tears, laughter and quite a bit of shouting ....lol. I cant remember my life B.C (before children) ....it must have been very boring ;0)

Those are great shots, especially the first one. You had a right to cry leaving her. Good for her being such a good girl. Helen

Love those photos Karin, especially the washing line one.
Hope she enjoys school, I'm sure she will.

Ag Karin! Was ek daar sou ek drie bottels wyn saam met jou uitgedrink het vir die pyn. Joune en myne.

It is so hard to see them grow sometimes, and to realize that no matter how hard you try, you'll always feel that you could have done more, could have spent more time, could have worried less about small things. And they just keep growing.

You've got me thinking about my own little Emma.

Your daughter is beautiful.

Sterkte. Hou aan met die foto's.

Lovely story and one we all feel. (Don't have to be a mommy!) My son turned 4 two weeks ago and, well, I know. My wife threatens to throw him in the freezer to keep him small and I remind her how that will not accomplish the goal she desires. :-)
