Blog Action Day '08: POVERTY

I've been thinking about this post for more than a month. I've been mulling the words over in my brain. I've been staring at the screen for much too long. I am at a loss for words. The problem is so great, and so varied, that one post could never do it justice.
My photos tell a story.
Too many people in my country and across the world are unemployed.
Too many people are not able to feed themselves.
Too many people are not able to feed their children.
Too many children have no-one to care for them.
Too many people don't take notice.

Every six seconds, a child dies of hunger. Every six seconds, a child dies of hunger. Too many things about that statement just does not seem right.

Waiting for the world to change

Karin, truly amazing photography. These images carry a very powerful message, its very easy for us to forget that so many across the world face such deprivation and misery. It is shameful that in the 21st century poverty is still affecting such a huge percentage of the worlds population.
